What is a sin according to the Bible?
A willful transgression of Christ's law (disobedience)
1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law" (Christ's law!)
James 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin”
Will sin will keep you out of Heaven?
John 8:21 If you "... die in your sins, whither I go you cannot come”
Hebrews 12:14 "Follow... holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”
Sin will separate you from God
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you...”
Sin causes Spiritual Death
Ezekiel 18:4 "... The soul that sinneth, it shall die”
James 1:15 "... And sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death”

What is the answer for sin?
Salvation through Jesus Christ!

Do Christians Sin?
There is no such thing as a "sinning Christian;" Christians don't sin.
John 8:34 "... Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.”
John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”
1 John 3:6 “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him”

Jesus commanded us NOT to sin:
John 8:11 To the adulterous woman – “... go, and sin no more”
John 5:14 To the impotent man –“... sin no more, lest a worst thing come unto thee"
How is salvation received?
Through faith, repentance, and godly sorrow
Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”
Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy”
2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation... but the sorrow of the world worketh death”
How should we live once we are saved from sin?
1 Peter 1:14-16 “... Be ye holy; for I am holy”
Titus 2:11-12 “... Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world”
Luke 1:74-75 That we might “... serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life”
How should we worship God?
